Simple Mercury Barometer - Example 3

Example 3:

In above, the height of a mercury barometer is h when the atmospheric pressure is 101 000 Pa.
What is the pressure at X?

Answer:
Atmospheric Pressure,
Patm = h cmHg = 101 000 Pa

Pressure at X,
PX = (h - ¼h) = ¾h cmHg

PX = ¾ x 101 000 = 75 750 Pa
